New Website

Shortly after new years I launched my new website, a well overdue update. The change came out of the  necessity to share my work in a much more efficient and organized way. Now, everything is neatly separated and organized in the way I want to display it, rather than by date of post like it is here. From now on I will post all my work there, so make sure to check it out regularly!

Yuppie Racing - Mercedes AMG Gathering

Two shots I had left to edit from the same night I shot Mike's CLK 63 Black Series a few months back.

European Motorsports - Ferrari F40

In my years of shooting I had never experienced what you could call the automotive equivalent of star struck. Sure... I've been taken back by cars here and there, but none had ever left me in such awe that I couldn't function properly - and no I'm not exaggerating.  When shooting I'm normally pretty calm, so much so that it sort of becomes a relaxing experience. This wasn't the case at all with the F40. During shoot I was nervous, unable to concentrate, and at times unable to compose my shots properly. There was just so much to take in that I didn't know what to do.

When the time came to sit down and review the shots on the computer, I noticed a few things I didn't like that weren't visible on the back of the camera LCD. It became clear then that my inability to concentrate caused a number of costly mistakes. The majority of which had never happened before. As result I had to delete over half of my shots, which included most of my favorite exterior and interior ones. The worst part of it all is that those deleted shots had some of the coolest angles I had ever tried.  I attempted so save them but couldn't. Thankfully I took backup shots with more conventional/ less experimental framing which is the majority of what you see below. But even these have their fair share of things I'm not happy with. The good thing is that this wont be the last time I get to shoot this as it's currently undergoing a major makeover. Hopefully next time I don't make the same mistakes and end up with a shoot that displays this car in greater detail.

Travel Adventures - East Coast Journey

As the year nears the end, I can't help but reflect on the many memorable experiences I've had on and off the job traveling and exploring new places. The images below are from my last three trips which pretty much wrap up my traveling for the year.

During the summer I finally visited New York City. This was something I'd wanted to do for quite sometime but for one reason or another never previously happened.

During my stay I enjoyed a breathtaking view of the city skyline form the observatory at The Rockefeller Center...

... A long walk around Central Park which I learned was only scratching the surface of it...

... The sites and sounds of city streets...

... And visited the 911 Memorial.

A few months later a video production job took me all the way to Fort Lauderdale Florida. This was my first time visiting the state so I didn't really know what to expect, despite the many great things I'd heard about it.

In the four days I was there I was able to see enough to understand why so many people want to live there!

My last work related trip took me took me to Atlantic City, New Jersey, or as I look at it "mini Vegas".

There I shared a great time with my friends at Kaizen Tuning while attending Import Expo and exploring the surrounding city areas.

Paul Russell and Company - Porsche 911 Collection

Porsche 911's have been on my list of favorite cars for as long as I can remember. So when Paul Russell asked me to shoot a few of them at the same time I could hardly contain my excitement. The shots below are few of the ones I captured during the one day three car shoot.

Building A Dream - Mugen Del Sol

My goal this year was to focus on filmmaking so that I could increase the level of quality I was producing. Unfortunately, after a lot of frustration with things not coming out how I wanted, I began to lose interest and confidence, and ended up doing a lot more photography as a result. Part of me was never happy while doing this, but no matter how much I wanted I just could't bring myself to making another film. I just didn't think I could do it anymore.

Up to this point, I've shot plenty of montage videos and even a few documentaries but had yet to actually put one of the latter together. This film marks the very first time I actually finish a mini documentary. It's far from perfect but I'm quite proud of it. It was filmed with no budget, in one day, and with no crew. The only equipment I had was what I owned - which really isn't the best, especially my not so good shotgun mic - but nonetheless I aimed to make it work. As I always say, "it's not what you have but what you do with what you've got."

Preparing this film has been a great confidence booster, one that has me extremely excited to put together some of the other documentaries I have filmed.

Anyway, without further ado, here is the film featuring Will Wang's Del Sol former Honda Tuning Magazine cover car!

Kaizen Tuning - Varis Widebody Time Attack Evo X

Last month while attending Import Expo in Atlantic City, the Kaizen Tuning crew was forced to drive their time attack Evo X on public roads. They did this so they could get it to the parking garage for storage, and later much faster into the venue. I posted a quick video and cell phone pictures of that on my Facebook, all of which became quite popular - giving us the idea for these two shots. At first, I thought the car seemed a bit out of place, but come to think of it... It almost looks like it's on the Japanese touge.
