Paul Russell and Company - 1957 Mercedes 300 SL Roadster
In the last month and a half I've had the privilege to shoot 6 amazing classic cars for Paul Russell and Company - a premier classic automotive restoration shop in Essex MA. The 300 SL Roadster below is one of the many cars they've restored from the ground up, as well as one of what they call a "portfolio car". It took me a total of two days to complete this "studio style" shoot. Something they requested after seeing my previous shoots in the same style. The total final delivered shot count came to an incredible 53, making it the largest shoot I've ever done! I'm tempted to post all of the images but quite frankly, they're too many!

Kaizen Tuning - Sakura Performance Engineering EVO X
Last week I stopped by Kaizen Tuning to do a quick photo shoot of their Sakura Performance Engineering demo car. For those wondering, SPE is KT's new line of performance parts developed in-house. With winter in full force I was forced to shoot inside once again, but given the purpose of the shoot the dark shop provided the perfect backdrop for advertising text. I want to avoid excluding backgrounds if possible going forward, but as far as this shoot goes - it worked out perfectly.

Kaizen Tuning - Alpha 9 GTR
I've never previously thought about it, but Kaizen (Japanese philosophy of continuos improvement) is basically how I go about visual media. With every shoot I make a point to do something different, more challenging and time consuming in the pursuit of just that - continuous improvement. To most this shoot probably looks quite simple on the surface (with it's black backdrops and all), but let me tell you - it wasn't. In fact, it was my most challenging shoot to date, requiring about 60 hours of work just in post-production. I'll be the first to admit that's a lot of time, but it was well spent if you ask me!

Portraits - A Contemporary Photo Class Project
For week five in my Contemporary Photography class we were assigned portraits. Personally, I'm not too big on this type of photography, mostly because I'm not quite comfortable with it and have had little to no practice. Like everything though, I looked at this assignment as a challenge and tried my best to come up with some decent portraits. I took these during our class visit to Boston's Institute of Contemporary Art, where the overcast day provided perfect diffused lighting conditions.

Seascapes & Cityscapes - A Contemporary Photo Class Project
My Contemporary Photography class has quickly become my favorite class this semester. One of the biggest reasons being that every week we have to go out and shoot. It doesn't have to be anything in particular, but our professor urges us to try and let what's discussed in class inspire us. This is the first time during my college education that I'm been able to take such a class and I couldn't be happier. The images below are mostly from my week 3 set. My favorite so far, and the hardest to shoot due to the incredibly cold weather. For those curious about location. The Seascapes where taken at Hampton Beach, NH and the Cityscapes in Boston.
